EXPERIENCE

Chito was born in Philadelphia where he began playing soccer at the age of eight. He played continuously through grade, middle, and high school, finishing his playing career at the University of Pennsylvania.

While at the University of Pennsylvania he earned his B.S. in Economics at the Wharton School with a Minor in Mechanical Engineering at the Towne School of Engineering. He was also a Doctoral Candidate in Sociology at U of P, choosing to leave in the middle of the program to continue with a business he began during the middle of his undergraduate program.

With education in hand Chito came West to Southern California in 1976. He is married to Jana and has two children who both played youth soccer. His oldest is Kiara who played for the San Juan Soccer Club. His youngest, Alana, began playing club soccer for the Blues in 1998 for the U09 team and finished her last two years of Club soccer at LHSC Eclipse. She now plays college soccer at Yale.

Chito has plenty of experience coaching his daughters at the youth level as he began coaching in the fall of 1993 for the San Juan A.Y.S.O. He has coached girl’s youth soccer at various levels including the “Plus Program” in the A.Y.S.O. from “K” Girl’s to U14 and even indoor soccer at the San Clemente Boy’s & Girl’s Club. Aside from coaching club soccer Chito has coaching experience as an Assistant with the San Clemente High School Girl’s Program.

To go along with his years of coaching and fathering experience Chito is the sole proprietor of Shipwright Marine Services. He used to double as a Music Director and Host for the “Morning Breeze” music program at KSBR (88.5) Saddleback College but eventually gave it up to dedicate more time to our game. In his spare time he is a freelance feature writer & photographer for various publications.
